Gaming gear gets some of the deepest Black Friday cuts, which also means the most junk with a discount sticker. This is what I actually use to game and stream every day: the headset, the mic situation, and the boards. Buy the thing that is good, at the price that is finally fair.
The quick verdict
For gaming and Discord the best buy is a headset boom mic, not a desk mic. I use the RODE NTH-100M daily.
- Best all-rounder: the RODE NTH-100M. Great sound, and the boom mic rejects keyboard clatter so you do not need a separate desk mic.
- If you want a cheap standalone mic: see my budget gaming mic guide.
- Boards: a good mechanical keyboard is a proper Black Friday treat, and the switch sound is the whole point.
The picks
RODE NTH-100M (headset + mic in one)
I use these daily for streaming music and Discord while I play. Voice is clear, setup is dead easy, the pads are comfy for long sessions, and the boom mic sits at your mouth so it rejects keyboard noise far better than a desk mic hoovering up the room. The one gaming audio buy I would tell anyone to make. Read my full review »

Best budget gaming mic
If you specifically want a cheap standalone mic rather than a headset, I have tested the budget options separately. The short version, a good headset boom mic beats most cheap desk mics for gaming. Read my full review »

A mechanical keyboard worth the treat
Black Friday is a good excuse for a proper mechanical board. The switch sound is the whole point, thocky, clacky or creamy, pick your poison. Look for one with hot-swap switches and PBT keycaps so you can tweak it later.

How to spot an actual Black Friday deal (not a fake one)
Retailers love to bump a price up in October so the November “deal” looks bigger than it is. Two rules keep you honest: check the price history before you buy (a tool like CamelCamelCamel shows you what a thing has really cost over the year), and never buy something just because it is discounted. A bad product at 40 percent off is still a bad product. Everything on this page is gear I would actually recommend at the right price, so you are only ever deciding on the number, not the thing.
When to buy
The real deals cluster around Black Friday week itself (late November) and roll into Cyber Monday. Some drop early in November and some hold until December. If a price on something here looks genuinely good when you check it, take it. Stock on the popular picks runs out, and “I will wait for a better deal” is how you end up paying full price in a panic on the 23rd of December.
