If you make content, a Black Friday USB mic deal is one of the easiest wins there is. I record into one nearly every day, so this is the honest shortlist: the one most people should get, the budget pick, and the cheap one for starting out. No fake discounts, just what is good and what to pay attention to.

The quick verdict

For most people the best USB mic to grab this Black Friday is the RODE NT-USB+.

  • Best overall: the RODE NT-USB+. Properly clean sound for podcasting, voiceover and streaming. What I record into daily.
  • Budget pick: the RODE NT-USB Mini, the RODE sound for less.
  • Cheapest start: the Razer Seiren V3 Mini, under fifty quid and does the job.
  • Just gaming and Discord? Skip a desk mic, a headset boom mic is faster and quieter (see my gaming guide).

The picks

RODE NT-USB+ (best overall)

The one I record into nearly every day and the best USB mic under two hundred for most people. Genuinely clean, no faff. On a Black Friday price it is an easy yes. Read my full review »

RODE NT-USB Mini (budget pick)

Smaller and cheaper, still the RODE sound. If the desk space or the budget is tight, this is the one. Read my full review »

Razer Seiren V3 Mini (cheapest start)

Tiny, supercardioid, under fifty quid. A great first mic if you are just starting and want to spend as little as possible. Step up to the NT-USB+ when you get serious. Read my full review »

How to spot an actual Black Friday deal (not a fake one)

Retailers love to bump a price up in October so the November “deal” looks bigger than it is. Two rules keep you honest: check the price history before you buy (a tool like CamelCamelCamel shows you what a thing has really cost over the year), and never buy something just because it is discounted. A bad product at 40 percent off is still a bad product. Everything on this page is gear I would actually recommend at the right price, so you are only ever deciding on the number, not the thing.

When to buy

The real deals cluster around Black Friday week itself (late November) and roll into Cyber Monday. Some drop early in November and some hold until December. If a price on something here looks genuinely good when you check it, take it. Stock on the popular picks runs out, and “I will wait for a better deal” is how you end up paying full price in a panic on the 23rd of December.
