If you find yourself having problems with keeping organised – don’t stress, there are many different tips and tricks out there to keep you on the ball. Here is a few to start you off.
Lists
Make what-to-do lists and keep them somewhere safe and visible. Then you can keep looking at it to see if you have any other things to do. Once it’s done, the most satisfying moment is crossing it off the list! Not only does it mean you have one less thing to do, but it gives you a sense of accomplishment for completing it.
Calendar and Planner
Be sure to keep a calendar and a planner, (most people have these built into their phones.) You can save reminders in your phone and plan out your days, then when the time comes, a little alarm will go off on your phone to tell you what you have to do today. This is a brilliant technique to keep you on schedule if you find you forget a lot.
Keep Your Things Together
A great idea is to give each drawer a theme when you are organising your things. This way nothing will get mixed up or lost anymore because they will be in the same spot within the category you give. (You may even want to invest in some soft close drawer runners to keep your drawers from slamming shut.)
Don’t Procrastinate
Procrastination means you keep putting something off, for example, you have to write a letter, but instead, you keep finding other things to occupy your time, so you don’t have to do it. If you want to be organised, you need to get things done when they should be.
Declutter Regularly
If you make sure every week you have a decluttering session where you throw out all the things you don’t need or put away items where they belong, this will ensure a clean, happy environment.
Work Hard
When you work hard, it forces you to be organised. So make sure you have your head in the game, and you are ready to give your undivided attention on whatever the job you are doing.
Responsibilities
Having a certain amount of responsibilities will keep you alert, because when you are given responsibility from someone, it’s a big sign that they trust you enough to have even given it to you, and you don’t want to let anyone down.
Make Backups
Whatever you do, whether that be sending emails or writing letters, or even taking pictures, be sure to keep a backup of everything. It is important to make copies so that if anything does get lost or damaged, you still have another one.
Put Things Away Straight After Using Them
Practice putting things away as soon as you have used them. Not only does this keep you organised, but it also prevents you from losing things.
Now you have some ideas, try them out and see how much easier your life will become.
