Some people say that what you need to do is enjoy that moment, without taking pictures and videos. For us, we think taking some pictures and videos is capturing our memories, we can share them with out friends and family and again with the girls when they are older. Maybe even with their kids too.
1. Invest in a waterproof phone case from Over Board. This will be one of the best things you ever do. I have a water proof phone and I LOVE the fact I can wade out into the pool or sea and snap away without worrying about dropping it. I know a lot of bloggers and parents use a phone as their main camera and this is a great way to protect it and get a few pictures you wouldn’t have even dreamt of before.
2. We enjoy pretty active summers, times in outdoor pools, farms, walking in fields, beachside holidays and many things like that. I have dropped many a camera and phone whilst trying to get a good picture(!!), so if you are into making videos on the go but you don’t fancy a handheld camera or holding your phone then try something with a first person view, that sees what you see – hands free. There are a few great one on the market but this waterproof camcorder is tiny, lightweight and has wifi so you can share your adventure straight away – winner!
3. Because I have family around the world, and even around the UK on our travels there is usually a computer and I like to back up everything as soon as I can. I carry a My Passport Ultra with me most places, to keep that protected from damage (as I am a bit clumsy) I use a shock and waterproof case. Then I upload to my cloud storage whenever possible.
4. Don’t just take the picture then leave them in the cloud or on the external. Do something with them! Sit down, make a scrapbook, put your best shots in a beautiful binder, get the children to help you decorate and you can then give it as a gift to someone or keep it and pull it out when they kids are all grown up.
5. Get your top shots printed and framed to display around your house. Use a personalised printing company if you would like to have a big canvas or pillows and print them off yourself if you’re on a budget. You can also reuse the picture in a few years time on Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Christmas, Birthday…. you get the idea. Good memories are worth sharing.
