Little Box. Big Day. Beauty Box Review

I have long been an avid fan of beauty boxes. Glossybox was my first, Birchbox has also been a staple. I had an email from GLAMGLOW with this little beauty, and honestly, I can’t believe it was only £28.(the price I think varies from where you buy, and there are plenty of vendors).

What You Get:

Clinique Moisture Surge™ Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator, 15ml

This is phenomenal. It’s so light and packs a big moisture hit. So much so that after a few days of using it, I skipped a day and wondered what had happened to my fave. The full price of the 30ml is about £15, so this would be £7. It’s a generous size pot.

GLAMGLOW THIRSTYMUD™ Hydrating Mask Treatment, 15g

If you haven’t heard of GLAMGLOW, then you are probably great at dodging popular stuff. In general, I like GLAMGLOW products, I like this for an extra boost of moisture if I have had a busy day. For night masks I use Dr Botanics Po night mask or Avant Deluxe Hyaluronic Acid Vivifying Face & Eye Cream (what a fuken long name though), so it is nice to have this on standby. Costing £13.60 from Boots for 15ml you’ve already had your money back.

M·A·C Satin Lipstick, Twig, 3g

It is a full-size product rather than a mini or deluxe sample. The satin formula is creamy and has a lovely pay off. It looks like it’s going to be dark browny toned, but on my lips the pink is perfect. It feels like a ‘your lips but better’ colour, and looks like it will work so many skin tones. This is £17.50.

Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara, 3ml

Mascara is mascara in most cases. I am a firm fan of Urban Decay Perversion, it gives me thick, coated lashes in seconds. I’ve been using Estēe Lauder Lash Envy one lately, and Lash Effect but there is something about this I kinda like, it’s great for a relaxed makeup look. I’ve grabbed for it a few times. The full size is £25 for 6ml, so let’s call this £12.50

Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick, Golden Pink, 0.9g

Fuken love it mate. When it says long lasting, they ain’t lying. I had to get the oil-based makeup remover out. I have blue eyes, so I love browns, golds and rose golds a lot. This is just so pretty. You can highlight your browbone with a light slick, or go to town on your lids or corner of the eyes. But it is more gold than it looks here. I just love it. Full size is 1.6g and £23.50, so this badboi is about £10.

Smashbox Photo Finish Smooth & Blur Primer, 12ml

Smashbox is one of those brands that I have seen so many people use but never got around to buying. Well, I am a fool. I do wish I had splurged on this before and you really don’t need much to get a really smooth base. I want to work with it a little bit more, but so far it’s brilliant. This one is £15.

Darphin 8-Flower Nectar Oil Cream, 5ml

Anything with the words ‘flower nectar’ in and I am there. Before you just ‘meh’ at the tiny 5ml pot, full size is 30ml and £70. ‘A blend of aromatic essences derived from 280 petals’ – it’s very creamy and smells like a flower that took a fancy bath. This teeny pot is £11 ish worth of lushness. Will I ever buy the 30ml pot? Nope. Do I love using the sample? Yes.

Estée Lauder Beautiful Belle, Eau de Parfum Spray, 4ml

It comes boxes in an embossed white box with metallic gold trim. The bottle is really sweet, and unlike a lot of samples feels really luxe. It is also a spray, which is handy. It just smells expensive and one spritz really has a lot of scent to it. ‘Fall head over heels for this irreverent blend of Lychee, Mimosa, Rose Petals, Orange Flower, Gardenia and Marzipan Musk.’ It has a romantic feel to it for sure. It’s not my usual style but I quite like it. This little beauty is £72 for 50ml but is often on offer. So, let’s say around £6 for this sample.

Thoughts on Little Box Big Day Beauty Box

The total value is somewhere in the region of £92-£95, the MAC lipstick alone is £17.50. If you grab your favourite foundation you have a full look for the big day for a really low price. The quality is of course really high, the creams you’d need to test a few days before just in case your skin doesn’t love them. After you’ve used all the products you can keep mementoes from the day in the little box too.

I feel like I got more than my money’s worth here. The MAC lipstick and the Clinique creams are just lovely, and I don’t often look at Bobbi Brown cosmetics so that was a nice change. For £28 I just can’t complain at all. Plus, you get a card inside with a discount off somethings too.

When it comes to purchasing it, purchase from the retailer you want samples from. You can get extra bits with some of them.
