When I was crouched not far from this tremendous beast, watching him graze I couldn’t help but be a little pleased with myself that I had managed to co-ordinate a day out that had gone according to plan. With a 4am wake up for me and the girls, arranging a taxi to pick up my friend before getting us on the way to a 6am train (three trains), getting to Richmond Park and then using poop to track ourselves some deer. The girls big saucer eyes watching babies feed from their mothers, female deers trotting in big groups, snoozing in the shade and the males, so gracious and so big.
It was booked only days before. I had seen some blurry mobile shots from a friend of mine and I knew that I really wanted to see them for myself. I wanted some time laying belly down in a poo filled field with him.
And I got it.
