Birmingham will always have a special place in my heart. It was the backdrop for some of the weirdest dates in my life. And some of the best too.
The Birmingham dating scene has always been vibrant, and there is literally so much you can do it gets hard to choose!
I’ll tell you where I went for one of the best dates (and subsequently went for my post-wedding meal), and share some other places that just make Birmingham a bit cool.
Piccolino
With my now husband we went here on our first date. I had spaghetti bolognese and he has mushroom ravioli. We were talking so much I didn’t finish my food, but I do remember it being delicious.
We started with the bruschetta to share, which was fresh and tasty.
Although my husband just told me he thought I was eating his one, as he hadn’t realised it was a share plate. Nice.
When we got married at the Birmingham Registry office, we booked a meal at Piccolino to celebrate.
The private dining menu was delicious!
All of our guest got merry, filled their bellies and went back to hotels happy.

Adam’s
On the subject of food, Adam’s is one of the most recommended places to eat in Birmingham. It’s based on Waterloo Street and has a Michelin start too.
It is super elegant, and yet very homely. So you can really indulge and feel comfortable while doing so.
For prices, you’re going to have the check the menu.
One this is for sure though, if you are looking to impress when it comes to Birmingham Dating, the Adam’s won’t fail you.
It has a string of reviews, and each of them waxes lyrical about Adam’s service, the food and the atmosphere.
The Birmingham Botanical Gardens
I love the botanical gardens and have been one of the nicest mate-dates ever here. We spent ages in the tea house drinking tea, eating cakes and relaxing. It was a stunning day too!
One of the best things about the Botanical Gardens is that no matter what season you visit there is always something new blooming.
You can buy tickets online, or on the day and they are reasonably priced.

Concessions £4.72 (60+, students, and children aged 5-15)
Children under 4 are free
Family (2 adults and 3 concessions) £22 with gift aid

Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery
Possibly one of my favourite places in Birmingham to pass some time. I have even had work meetings in the tea room!
It is great for walking around with friends or taking a date who also has an interest in art and history.
They have a few different exhibits, and the whole place is relaxing and calm. From time to time there are also some events, special exhibits and talks.
It’s a really lovely space and certainly one I go to every time I am in Birmingham.

Escape Hunt
This is not for the faint of heart, but might help you decide if your new love will stand the test of time.
The premise of an escape room is simple, you work together the get out as quickly as possible. There are some challenges that will need your attention on the way and smarts and speed is essential!
