I have now hit week 37. A week that means you are now carrying a full term baby. It can be a very uncomfortable time for many. The growth of the baby bump over the last weeks is pretty rapid. However, it is nice to pick up a couple of staples from a shop you love, to see you through this last bit of gigantobump. Maternity wear needn’t cost the earth, after all, you don’t wear it for that long. I know that I will be breastfeeding the new arrival, so I opted for a couple of things that will be suitable for both sides of the birth. Pieces were sent for the purpose of this post.
Maternity Staples with BOOHOO:
I have no idea how to live a life without vest tops. Boohoo have a two pack for £8. There are a few colour options available – and if I were you, I would size down. They are very generous in the bump area. They’re going to be ideal for breastfeeding and keeping cool in the last few weeks of summer. Plus, a ribbed cami always looks cute under a cardigan.
The cami tops are super lightweight, meaning that even in this rather extraordinary heatwave we have experienced lately, I have been cool. They can be layered up when needed and in general great for day-to-day wear or lounging around.
The cardigan featured here is a sweet £16. This is going to be another staple for me. It’s comfortable to wear, comes in black, petrol and stone. I think there is always something a bit cool about a varsity cardigan, I love the style.
Another point is, I use baby carriers rather than pushchairs – and oh my you can get a bit toasty. Layers are just a key thing for me.
Let’s be honest there is only so much you can say about cami tops isn’t there. But here is another shot of the bump in the black ribbed cami top.
While living in leggings hasn’t been my most favourite of things, (maternity jeans are just a bit awkward) dresses have been fantastic. Dresses are super relaxed. Can be dressed up or down and if you get a good one, you can wear it before birth and after.
The dress comes in at £15, and while it is a little on the short side (but y’know – massive bump) if I had picked it up in months 4-6 it would’ve been perfect. Probably going to make the most of this with some more leggings for the next couple of weeks. However, after the baby arrives it’s going to be gorgeous with some tights and super Autumnal.
