5 Top Tips to Quit Smoking Cigarettes

Tips for stopping smoking will always be handy, even if you haven’t decided to quit, or you’ve quit before and gone back. There are a few things that could help you on your way to being cigarette free for good.

  1. Start by looking at the periods during the day you might usually have a smoke. Break time at work, while you are having a drink with your friends? Prepare for those moments by having chewing gum, or a book – something to keep you occupied during your normal habit routine.
  2. Treat yourself to a new perfume or scent – if you no longer smoke you can smell the perfume properly – and so can people around you. Bonus. Your clothes will smell fresher for longer, and that lovely bath bomb or shower gel you’ve use will actually smell nice too – for a change.
  3. Try switching to a vape, companies like JAC Vapour stock some brilliant starter kits to help you make the switch. If you need help with to buy they have a chat box too.
  4. Keep your hands busy with a fidget cube, or take up a new hobby like writing, drawing or painting. Not only will you have something new to focus on but you will also have something to show at the end of it.
  5. Work out how much you spend on  smoking a week, what could that buy you at the end of the week? What about the end of the month? What about if you put away that £7 a day for a whole year?! Can anyone say holiday time? And with boxes of ten slowly becoming impossible to buy, the cost of smoking will likely be higher. The more you have in a box, the more you’re likely to smoke. (if you are a 20 a day smoker, you’re spending 2 thousand pounds a year on your habit – more than enough for a really lovely holiday, house renovations or just extra spending money week on week).
